SUPER SURROUND SOUND FOR SUPER BOWL 2024

 Super Bowl 2024 is just over two weeks away...

when the Kansas City Chiefs will battle it out with the San Francisco 49ers for the coveted title of Super Bowl 58 Champions.  Over the past year, your goal has been to outfit your smart home with the latest and greatest automated AV systems, and the professional AV Integration Team at AV Enthusiast has just completed the final touches to your new Media Lounge.

Your huge estate in The Ledges of Huntsville, Alabama had some empty space begging for a purpose, so you chose to fill that space with an acoustically-tuned Media Lounge as a state-of-the-art, audio-visual adjunct to your formal living room on the ground floor of the residence, and as an overflow option to your more-isolated home theater located in the far northeast corner of the home.  Yes, you have an ultra-slim 55” Samsung “The Frame” OLED S95C TV above the gas log fireplace in the living room, but its main purpose is to display a slideshow of famous works of art, creating a cozy, relaxing atmosphere for long conversations with family and friends.  Besides that, the room has an open floor plan with an open ceiling to the 2^nd floor and walls of windows, making acoustic remediations almost impossible. 

On the other hand, your new 20’ by 40’ Media Lounge was purposefully-built with sheet rock walls and ceiling and a raised floor, allowing for the installation of acoustical soundproofing materials inside the walls, above the ceiling, and under the floor.  Every aspect of the room that affects audio or visual quality was fine-tuned by AV Enthusiast Integrators for optimal enjoyment of any movie, show, or gaming adventure.  Now complete, the room showcases personalized acoustical panels by Kinetics placed strategically on the walls, along with a Kinetics Starcoustix™ Starfield Ceiling.  

The room also boasts a Dolby Atmos surround sound system driven by Marantz’ newest AV receiver, the Cinema 30, with the optional Dirac Live upgrade included for optimal acoustical tuning.  This powerful piece of 11.4 (7.4.4) Dolby Atmos technology offers 11 channels, rated at 140W each, to drive the Bowers & Wilkins loudspeakers, along with 4 independent subwoofer channels, allowing low end frequencies to be directed where they should be and not just all over the room.  For instance, if there is an explosion to the back left of a character on the screen, then only the subwoofer to the back left of the viewing audience will activate for that particular sound.

Paired with a Domino DTVs Ultra-Short-Throw projector from SIM2 and a 120” floor-rising screen from Screen Innovations, this carefully structured system of immersive sound and video delivers an astounding three-dimensional experience like no other, whether enjoying Super Bowl 58, a Taylor Swift concert, or Guardians of the Galaxy.  And the gaming experience is phenomenal.    

Plus, thanks to recent advances in projection technology, your experience can now be had with the lights on or off.  According to Steven Douglas, CEO of AV Enthusiast, “In the past the use of a projector required a dark room.  Now, with the latest in projection and screen technologies, you can leave the lights on and blinds open if you want.  Plus, the screen can automatically disappear at the touch of a button.”

Oh, and since you intend to use the room for family conferences with distant relatives using Crestron Flex video conferencing technology, you’ll be able to experience your niece’s violin solo of Henry Purcel’s Prelude in G Minor as if you are right there in the room with her.

Further equipped with comfy modular furniture and theater-style seating from Jaymar plus a pool table and a snack bar, your new media lounge is a perfect day-to-day hang out and a welcoming overflow area for your Super Bowl Weekend Bash.
